Jean Ingelow

There's something quirky and different about Miss Ingelow that I find attractive. These are properties that would be celebrated in a man.

I'm not going to post her poetry on this site. This has already been done wonderfully well on gerald-massey.org.uk, to which I commend you. Here, you will also find texts of most of her novels and other written works. I haven't read them myself yet and am very intrigued by her novel without a beginning (John Jerome). Just let a modern-day novelist do that and claim it original! My introduction was through Mopsa the Fairy, which is very 'Lewis Carroll' and amusingly thought provoking.
